What matters in practice

Moisture is one of the reasons we inspect rather than quote a generic system from a distance. Depending on the condition and the material selected, the floor may need a different primer, additional surface preparation, a moisture-control approach or a conversation about whether the project should wait until the condition is addressed.

A coating system is strongest when its layers are compatible with the slab and the service environment. Using a product because it is fast or because it is what a neighbour used is not the same as building around the actual substrate. The details are not exciting, but they are what protect the finish you will see every day.

If you have seen dark patches, white mineral deposits, recurring dampness or coating failure, mention it early. A few clear photos and project history help us ask better questions before the installation plan is finalized.
