Quotes & booking

How do I get an accurate quote?+

Send the space type, approximate measurements, one wide photo, close-ups of cracks or old coatings, and any water history. We can discuss a direction and arrange a site visit when the slab needs to be assessed directly.

How much does an epoxy floor cost?+

Our published price ranges give you a planning starting point. Final price depends on actual measurements, preparation, repairs, moisture conditions, access, system, finish, and timing.

Is the Floor Build Lab estimate a final quote?+

No. It creates a useful planning range from the choices you enter. The written quote follows the confirmed measurements, concrete condition, preparation, and selected system.

What is the deposit and how long is my quote valid?+

A 50% upfront deposit reserves the project and covers scheduled materials. Written quotes are valid for 30 days.

Can I visit the shop?+

Yes, by appointment. Rose City Customs is at 5580 Walker Rd Unit 1, Windsor, ON N0R 1L0. Call or text (519) 999-1531 to arrange a time.

WHAT SITS UNDER THE FINISH

Concrete & preparation

Why do you mechanically grind the floor?+

Diamond grinding removes weak surface material and creates the concrete profile required for adhesion. Preparation is matched to the selected product data instead of relying on acid etching or a quick surface clean.

What happens to cracks and control joints?+

Cracks, chips, spalls, and repairs included in the scope are addressed before coating. Moving construction, control, isolation, and expansion joints are treated as moving joints; a coating cannot stop the slab from moving.

Can you coat over paint or an old coating?+

Only after the existing layer and bond are assessed. Loose or failing material must be removed, and the sound concrete beneath it has to be prepared for the new system. Read the old-coating guide.

Do you test concrete for moisture?+

Testing is used where the selected system or project conditions require it. If the slab exceeds the product’s moisture limit, the standard installation stops until an approved mitigation system, a different plan, or no coating is chosen. Read the protocol.

How do you control grinding dust?+

The protocol calls for shrouded grinding connected to HEPA dust extraction, a controlled work area, and HEPA or wet cleanup. Dry sweeping and compressed-air cleanup are not part of the process.

THE FLOOR BUILD

Systems & installation

Which coating brands do you use?+

We work with both LabSurface and Chemtec resin and coating systems, paired with Torginol decorative flake when the design calls for it. The written proposal names the exact primer, build coat, media, and topcoat selected for your floor.

Is epoxy or polyaspartic better for my garage?+

It depends on the slab, room conditions, use, finish, and installation plan. We discuss the whole system—preparation, primer when required, build coat, broadcast, and wear layer—rather than choosing from one product name. Compare the systems.

What finish choices are available?+

Options include full flake, metallic, quartz, and solid colour. Full flake is practical and visually forgiving; metallic is more fluid and individual; quartz can add texture; solid colour creates a cleaner, simpler field.

Will the floor be slippery?+

Any floor can be slippery when wet or contaminated. Texture can be adjusted within the selected system, but more texture can also change the look and cleaning feel. Tell us where water, snow, oils, or washdowns occur.

How long before I can use the floor?+

Walking, moving items, and vehicle return times vary with the selected products, temperature, humidity, and site conditions. We provide the confirmed return-to-service schedule for the installed system.

AFTER INSTALLATION

Care & warranty

How should I clean a coated floor?+

Remove grit regularly, mop or rinse with a cleaner approved for the installed system, and wipe spills promptly. Avoid abrasive tools and harsh chemicals unless the product guidance confirms they are suitable.

Can road salt and winter slush damage the floor?+

Regular cleaning matters because grit, salt, and standing slush increase abrasion and leave residue. Clear the garage door edge and drains, then rinse and remove dirty water rather than letting it dry on the surface.

What about scratches, tire marks, or loss of gloss?+

Normal traffic can create marks and gradual wear. Prompt cleaning, protective pads, and avoiding sharp dragging help. A maintenance recoat may restore the wear layer when the existing system is suitable.

What warranty applies?+

Eligible complete systems include a 5-year residential or 2-year commercial limited workmanship warranty. Repair-only, maintenance recoat, and partial restoration work includes a 1-year limited workmanship warranty. Read the coverage, exclusions, and claim process.

STILL UNSURE?

Send the floor, not a perfect explanation.

A few clear photos and rough measurements are enough to start the conversation. Ahmad can help identify the next questions.
