What matters in practice
Take a few photos while the room is empty. They are useful for planning details like cracks, drains, steps, wall conditions, access and where the garage door lands. They also make it easier to decide whether you want cove base, a colour transition or another small finishing detail before the work is underway.
Ask in advance about power, access, pets, alarms and anything that may affect work time. Grinding equipment, vacuum systems and material installation need a functional work area. Knowing the schedule also helps you plan where vehicles will be while the floor reaches its appropriate return-to-service point.
After the install, keep the first few days simple. Follow the specific care instructions for the system, avoid dragging heavy objects across a fresh floor and ask before introducing mats, parking, washing or equipment. The crew should leave you with clear expectations rather than a vague guess.
