WINDSOR–ESSEX FLOOR REFRESH & MAINTENANCE RECOATS

Refresh a sound Windsor floor before wear becomes a rebuild.

A bonded floor with a tired wear surface may be a candidate for a maintenance recoat. We inspect adhesion, damage, contamination, moisture signs, and compatibility before recommending a refresh.

A CLEARER FLOOR CONVERSATION

Good decisions start before the finish is chosen.

We use the condition of the concrete and the practical use of the space to guide the system, preparation, and final visual direction.

KEEP THE GOOD FLOOR WORKING

A maintenance recoat starts with one honest question: is the existing system still bonded well enough to keep?

01

Qualify the existing floor

We look for sound adhesion, compatible materials, isolated damage, and a wear surface that can accept another coat.

02

Prepare for the new topcoat

Cleaning, degreasing, mechanical abrasion, detailed vacuuming, and local repairs create the surface the refresh coat needs.

03

Reset the finish

A compatible topcoat and optional traction additive can restore protection, improve cleanability, and extend useful floor life.

A scratched or dull floor is not automatically a failed floor.

Traffic can change gloss, leave scratches, and make an older coating harder to clean while the underlying system remains bonded. An inspection separates normal wear that may suit a recoat from peeling, blistering, or widespread failure that needs a different plan.

Compatibility and preparation decide whether a recoat makes sense.

The existing coating, cleaning products, oils, tire dressings, repairs, and moisture symptoms all matter. A qualifying surface is thoroughly cleaned, mechanically abraded, vacuumed, and repaired where the written scope calls for it before the compatible wear coat is applied.

Plan a refresh before the wear becomes a rebuild.

Maintenance recoats can fit garages, showrooms, shops, and other coated interiors. A typical planning range is $3–$7 per square foot plus HST, subject to a minimum project charge, access, condition, compatibility, and repair needs.

A recoat starts with an adhesion decision.

Photos can show scratches and gloss loss, but the existing coating still needs to be checked for adhesion, compatibility, contamination and moisture symptoms. A bonded system may only need cleaning, mechanical abrasion, local repairs and a compatible wear coat. Peeling, blistering or widespread delamination requires a different plan.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What people usually want to know first.

Can every old epoxy floor be recoated?

No. The existing system needs to be sound and compatible. Peeling, blistering, widespread delamination, active moisture, or failure below the coating calls for repair or replacement instead.

What does a maintenance recoat include?

A qualifying scope normally includes inspection, cleaning and degreasing, mechanical abrasion, detailed vacuuming, agreed local repairs, and a compatible protective topcoat.

How much does a floor recoat cost?

A sound compatible floor generally plans between $3 and $7 per square foot plus HST. Minimum charges, repairs, access, condition, and selected finish can change the written quote.
